ABOUT GLENDALE: Originally named after Glendale Station, a tiny station between Kirkwood and Webster Groves that was once a stop on the Missouri Pacific Railroad, Glendale started off as a small, rural community. Its defining landmark, Glendale Station, was later replaced by the city of Oakland. Glendale was later incorporated in 1916 as a fourth-class city, which means it had a minimum of five hundred people living in it.

The city is careful to preserve historical homes in the area, like the Yeats-Armstrong House, McPherson-Holland House, and the Cori House. The Yeats-Armstrong House was built before the Civil War in 1808 as a simple log cabin. It was later expanded in 1836 to include a new addition. According to the United States Census Bureau, Glendale’s population was estimated to be 6,077 in July 2022.
